The legal team you will become part of provides tailor-made legal services to their internal network on a variety of legal business matters in a correct but business-wise way.
We are looking for an In-House Legal Advisor to join our client's legal team. The legal advisor will report to the Senior Legal Counsel. The function is located in Brussels (North) with good remote and flex options.
The Position
We are actively looking for a business oriented and proactive in-house legal counsel to join the client's legal team The main focus will be on commercial law and on new legal requirements to well inform the (legal) team on the upcoming.
The ideal candidate is interested and has experience in commercial law and an interest in other legal domains.
As an in-house legal counsel, you will have these main responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for monitoring, reviewing and keeping the in- house legal team up to date of all relevant legal requirements applicable to the client in Belgium and translating these into applicable guidelines and policies for client’s business on a broad range of matters.
- Further, you will draft, review and negotiate various types of B2B agreements (commercial and business contracts; e.g., general terms and conditions, license agreements, data protection agreements, lease agreements, consultancy agreements, …) in close collaboration with the Procurement Department. You will also work closely with other client stakeholders taking into account the applicable legal requirements and the business needs of the client.
- You will also contribute together with the other in- house legal team members to the development and the update of legal (contract) templates.
- You will work closely with the other clients' departments in order to provide the most complete assistance and advice possible, taking into account the legal framework and their business needs.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
- You hold a Belgian master’s degree in law
- You have 2 to 4 years' relevant professional experience in a law firm or an in-house legal department.
- You are eager to learn and interested in different (complex) legal matters
- You also like to stay ahead when it comes to new regulation
- You have strong analytical and writing skills
- You are fluent in Dutch and English and have a good level in French
- You are a real team player
- You are business oriented and proactive, yet also precise.
