Thanks to the dedication and technical expertise of an international team, this company is among the very best, with its solutions recognized internationally and regularly forming the basis for new industry standards.

The Position

As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for the complete design of assigned projects – from assignment to final delivery to the customer. This includes layout, piping, construction parts, etc.

You will be part of the team that focuses on the Life Sciences Sector and will work 3 days onsite in Antwerp with occasional visits to customers in the Benelux.

Your responsibilities will include the following main areas:

  • You identify the requirements and develop rough sketches and diagrams of components, systems, subassemblies, and assemblies.
  • You design new process installations and modify existing ones, using Inventor or other 3D CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks).
  • You translate concepts, P&IDs, and order documentation into detailed 3D models and 2D drawings.
  • You select and design powder bulk components, piping, and steel structures in line with standards, safety, and ergonomics.
  • You support the project team with layouts, measurements, interference checks, quantities, and bills of materials.
  • You coordinate with project managers, process engineers, and sales, and manage models and drawings according to company standards.
Experience and required profile
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree, preferably in (electro-)mechanics, or similar through experience
  • You have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with 3D design software (e.g Inventor, SolidWorks) in the Process industry.
  • You are experienced with SAP.
  • You are flexible, results-driven, creative, and communicate effectively while collaborating smoothly with others.
  • You work accurately and with attention to detail, applying solid mechanical insight in your designs.
  • You communicate fluently in English; knowledge of Dutch, French or German is a strong plus.

Our client offers

  • A competitive salary including fringe benefits, flexible working hours within a hybrid framework.
  • You will be joining a leading player, still family-owned, specializing in industrial automation, where every project is tailor-made and technical innovation is central. You will be trained and supervised, and our client is looking for a long-term collaboration where you will learn and grow on the job.
  •  You will be given a role with a lot of responsibility and variety, in which you will combine technical expertise with customer-oriented project work.
  • You will be supported by and become part of a close-knit team and will have the opportunity to grow and develop further through in-depth training and knowledge sharing.
  • You will work in a modern, people-oriented environment where open communication, mutual trust and quality are a matter of course.
